Welcome Letter
Dear Supporters and Friends,
2013 is best characterized as a year of continued change as employee workplace giving continues its evolution and
transformation. The annual one-time a year workplace giving campaign is now being strategically considered in the
context of broader employer issues such as employee engagement, corporate philanthropy and social responsibility.
In 2013 America’s Charities ground-breaking research focused on these changes and their implications for
employers and charities – implications that suggest more changes are yet to come.
This 2013 Annual Report talks about these changes in short essays and insights through the eyes of our leadership
and front line staff and provides highlights of our work, including

and employee engagement programs.
Continuing to create value for employers by connecting them to leaders, best practices and leading-edge
research in the field of employee engagement, corporate philanthropy, technology innovation, and
social
responsibility strategy.
Strengthening our organization through the development of new core values to guide us in meeting the challenges
of our sector.
Providing sector leadership around transparency, accountability and other expectations now impacting philanthropy.
By keeping abreast and ahead of the changes and providing tools and strategies for charities and employers to meet
their philanthropic goals, America’s Charities continues to lead during this time of transformation.
Looking ahead, the landscape and environment affecting philanthropy will continue evolving rapidly as digital culture
drives the democratization of charitable information and the discussion about impact and resources. Our mission
is to connect charities with employers and their employees, and to inspire those donors to provide recurring and
unrestricted donations that are vital for charities to be able to have impact and effectively demonstrate their capacity
to have positive social value. With the help of our engaged board of directors, our member charities and employer
partners, we remain committed to lead the way forward.
With appreciation,
